A few quick checks resolve most PointerPause setup issues.

PointerPause needs Accessibility access

Open System Settings, select Privacy & Security, then Accessibility. If PointerPause is not listed, click the add button, select PointerPause from your Applications folder, and enable it. Quit and reopen the app if macOS does not recognize the change immediately.

The pointer stays paused too long

Open PointerPause from the menu bar and lower the recovery delay. New installations begin at 0.8 seconds.

PointerPause is not active

Confirm that PointerPause is enabled and its menu-bar status is green. An orange status means the application needs attention, such as Accessibility approval.

Removing Accessibility access

Quit PointerPause before revoking its Accessibility permission or removing the application. If you grant access again later, reopen PointerPause and select Check Again.
