The story
Built from a real access barrier.
Timothy Tosh created PointerPause after unintended contact with his MacBook’s built-in trackpad repeatedly interrupted typing. Disabling the trackpad or relying on separate hardware was not a practical answer.
PointerPause gives pointer actions a short, adjustable pause after each key press. The pointer remains free to move, while clicks, dragging, and scrolling resume after the selected recovery delay.

Independent developer Timothy Tosh has released PointerPause, a focused motor-accessibility utility for Mac. PointerPause helps people whose hands or palms unintentionally activate a trackpad or mouse while they type.
After every key press, PointerPause briefly blocks clicks, dragging, and scrolling. Normal pointer actions return after an adjustable recovery delay ranging from 0.1 to 1.5 seconds. The visible pointer may continue moving, preserving a familiar workflow without unexpected clicks, selections, focus changes, or scrolling.
